Those who are not registered for the conference may not attend any program or events. You must be a registered attendee in order to attend the workshops.
If a speaker has provided educational materials for your session, you will find them uploaded to the conference app. If there are no materials for a workshop, that means the speaker has not provided the chapter with any materials. We encourage you to view materials on your mobile/tablet device; however, you can always print them in advance to bring with you to the conference. There will be no printed handouts provided by the chapter.
To print materials: Go to ‘Schedule’ in the NASW-IL Conference app. Select the workshop you’re attending. If the speaker has sent a handout, it will be posted there. Open the document and select to print it to your local printer. Note: you will need a printer linked to the viewing device you’re using to open the documents.
Thursday, October 25, 2018 | 8:30am–3:00pm
The NASW-Illinois Chapter will be providing complimentary boxed lunches to attendees. If you made a special dietary request (excepting vegetarians), you will receive a meal card in your name badge for each day you are registered to attend. The meal card will need to be handed to a ticket attendee. All other attendees (including vegetarians) will be able to select their choice during lunch.
ARRIVE EARLY. Your selections while registering for the conference do NOT guarantee your spot as selections were used only for informational purposes and room allocation. We recommend arriving early to your desired workshop to ensure seating.
There is really no need to change them as you are not restricted to the workshop you used to register before the conference–these were only requested for informational and location allocation purposes. On the day of the conference, you are free to attend any workshop you wish.
We encourage you to move to one of the other courses being taught at that time. This is your conference–please do not stay in a class you are not getting the most out of.

There will be workshops in cultural competency and ethics available. Please see workshop titles and descriptions for which classes qualify.
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) requires all licensed social workers and licensed clinical social workers to complete thirty (30) hours of continuing education relevant to the practice of social work or clinical social work in order to renew their license every twenty-four months. In addition, a minimum of three out of those thirty hours must be in training relevant to the ethical practice of social work and another three in cultural competency. The next renewal date is November 30, 2019.
Social workers do not have to comply with CE requirements for the remainder of the renewal period in which you first get your license. (You do still have to renew your license; you are just not responsible for the CEUs.) This CEU grace period is up to two years long, depending on when you become licensed. If you do not know when your license was issued, see the IDFPR website (www.idfpr.com) feature “License Look-Up.”
The Business of Social Work Conference is approved to provide continuing education for LSWs, LCSWs, PEL -Type 73 (CPDUs), LPCs, LCPCs, LMFTs, RNs, LPNs, APNs, and LCPs.
Please note: ALL of NASW-Illinois Chapter events are eligible for CEs for all of the above licenses. You can see a list of other education we are offering at: http://bit.ly/naswcalendar
ALL CEU CERTIFICATES FROM THE CONFERENCE WILL BE E-MAILED WITHIN 45 DAYS.
Participants are responsible for providing current contact information when registering for the conference. The NASW-Illinois Chapter is not responsible for CEUs that are not received by conference participants if contact information is not up to date.
The NASW-Illinois Chapter CEU verification system allows you to attend any workshop you want! If you find yourself in a workshop that does not meet your expectations, feel free to move to another one and still receive the full CEU credit!
Your CEU verification form will be given out at registration.
- If you are on time to the conference, you will receive a pre-stamped CEU form. If you are late, you will be stamped into the conference with the time at registration.
- You will receive your second and FINAL CEU stamp after attending your last workshop of the day. Be sure to drop off your form (now with two stamps on it) at the registration booth before leaving the conference.
